Education and Workshops

 

J Pope and the HearNow is a collective made up of health care practitioners, social workers, teachers, mentors and community organizers. We offer classes  and workshops (examples given, but not limited to the list below) to any person, institution or community who is interested, please reach out via our 'CONTACT' page to inquire!

-Conflict Management: develop de-escalation skills useful for everyday life. Class is lead by band percussionist and head of the Baltimore Wisdom Project, Gabriel PIckus.

-Lyric Writing: learn to write meaningful lyrics/poems from the band front-person, J Pope.

-Team Building: build unity in your community through intensive team-building and communication strategies. Class is lead by band percussionist and head of the Baltimore Wisdom Project, Gabriel PIckus.

-Leadership Development: tap into the leader within by unleashing your passion onto your profession. Class is lead by band percussionist and head of the Baltimore Wisdom Project, Gabriel PIckus.

-Marketing for Musicians in the digital age: learn the ins and outs of making exciting online content for different social media platforms that people will want to share. Class lead by HearNow bass-guitarist, Andrew Freed (check out his viral content on facebook and instagram @andrewfreedmusic).

-Managing and Independent band: hear about the challenges of managing an independent band and learn strategies to try and keep things moving forward at all time. Class lead by HearNow manager and drummer, Dan Samuels.

-Bebop Sax Master Class: learn about developing vocabulary, turning words into phrases, ear training methods, transposing ideas into different tunes and more! Class lead by HearNow horn expert, Daniel Wallace.

-Funk Bass Class: learn imperative techniques that will keep people dancing and cool tricks that will turn heads! Lead by The HearNow's bass player, Andrew Freed.

-Songwriting: learn techniques for writing music and working through writer's block! Co-lead by The HearNow's main songwriter, Jake Kohlhas, and The HearNow's front-woman and lyricist, J Pope.
